Furniture Makers’ Programme - 2018
The FMP was fantastic, I'm so glad I decided to take the plunge. I wanted a comprehensive education in all aspects of fine furniture making, and the course and wonderful tutors absolutely delivered. The environment at the CFW is enriching and supportive, and the curriculum is thorough, challenging, and I think a good balance is achieved between the design focussed aspects, teaching traditional skills, and the requirements of modern day making. The tutors are world class, the small class size is great, and the school is well set up and run. Before the course I was mostly interested in utilitarian objects, but I left with a deep interest in and appreciation of furniture and design. After a few years of making part-time, I now work full time for myself designing and making custom furniture & objects for clients, from my workshop in Auckland.
